About DGP Insurance

DGP-Miles Insurance Agency, Inc. has been in business for over half a century.  It was formed by the patriarch of the Pietro family, John Pietro.  A World War II Veteran at the age of 19, he returned home, attended Worcester Academy as a post graduate late in 1947.  He then attended Brown University where he achieved Honorable Mention All American Honors in football while maintaining an excellent academic record.  After graduation in 1952, John joined the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League, selling insurance during the off season.  He opened Mid-State Insurance Agency in Worcester, MA.

John believed in hard work and honesty.  He instilled these beliefs in his family and his staff.  In the ‘70s, twelve agencies were acquired.  DGP-Miles Insurance Agency was one of those agencies.  The business flourished and today, is run by John’s son, David.  David has brought DGP-Miles Insurance to even greater success.  Partnering with the world’s most prestigious insurance companies and brokerage firms, the Agency is able to present clients of all sizes with expert advice and insurance programs tailored to their individual needs.  St Paul/Travelers, C N A, AIG, One Beacon, The Hartford, and FM Global are just a small representation of the companies we represent.  Our brokerage relationships include The Meadowbrook Group, The Iroquois Group and the AON Specialty Product Network.

We have worked with Fortune 1000 companies, as Risk Managers and have also been involved with setting up Captive and Self Insurance for our clients.  Some of our clients include High Tech, Manufacturers, Distributors, Hospitality, Auto Dealers, and Contractors for habitational and other commercial risks.  DGP-Miles has the capability to address global exposures for our clients including placement of worldwide domestic and local foreign policies.
